Township Clerk

Jeanne Kearby is the Township Clerk. Her office is responsible for maintaining the records of the Township, assuring compliance for open meetings, responding to Freedom of Information requests and keeping the minutes and actions of the Board of Trustees.

Welcome to the Clerk’s office. I have been a resident of Avon Township for over 40 years. Records and legal responsibilities for public records have been cornerstones in my career. I was a teacher in Round Lake for 20 years and retired as an administrator from Waukegan Public Schools in 2013. I also was elected and served 8 years as a school board member for Grayslake High School. In those jobs, I have had several years of training and experience with records retention.

My husband and I raised four boys in Avon Township and they have taken advantage of the many clubs, organizations and community services offered in the Township. I am privileged to be able to serve the community that has given so much to me and my family through the years. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have regarding the records of Avon Township.
