Welcome Back to School
Township Donates 50 Backpacks and School Supplies to District 116
& District 46
Avon Township Supervisor Lisa Rusch recognizes that some
families find it difficult to supply their children with the needed
school supplies as they begin a new school year. The township
bought pens, pencils, erasers, glue, crayons, notebooks, folders,
rulers and loose leaf paper along with 50 backpacks. Each
backpack was filled with school supplies.
Working with counselors from both districts, the township
delivered the backpacks this week to be handed out to some of the
needy families in the township.
Supervisor Rusch said this is a first for Avon Township and a
new tradition I intend to repeat year after year.
Pictured are officials and staff who worked in "assembly line
fashion" to fill the backpacks with school supplies.
