Avon Township Supervisor

The township supervisor is chief executive officer of the
township, chairman of the board of trustees, supervisor of general
assistance, and the treasurer of all funds, including general
assistance and all road and bridge funds. The township supervisor
handles the daily operations of the township administration
building and the township food pantry.

- Senior Citizen Recognition Day
The Senior Citizen Recognition Day is held annually during the
summer months, most recently at Independence Grove Forest Preserve
in Libertyville. Many agencies as well as the townships assist the
Lake County Board in sponsoring this event. Avon Township provides
free transportation from area Senior Centers. Food, beverages,
prizes, entertainment, services and information booths create a fun
filled day which is provided free to all Lake County Seniors.
